Zoli's place: Improvisation
Something I'm discovering by making music is how much my relationship with any art depends upon improvisation. I have a terrible memory. I don't read music well. Most of the pieces here I will never be able to play again. But, I simply love being in the moment and responding to the next note. I feel the same when I'm writing narrative. It's all about being lost in and responding to whatever faces the characters next. Sure, there's lots of editing to come, and post production in the music, but the real pleasure for me is in improvisation. This piece was based upon a snippet of Mcoy Tyner that I remembered, and just noodling around it.
