Dream in C: focusing on production
After the frenzied whirlwind of making a piece of new music every week, I took a break and spent a bit more time trying to understand production. I'm still going at it the way I go at everything - without any instructions, and pressing the buttons to see what happens. Jeff Tweedy writes in his memoir that he can't learn anything unless he feels like he's the first person to ever discover it, even when the subject or task in question is centuries old. I feel the same way. I think the production values on this piece worked better, and came closer to the kind of sound I want to make.
